Tips for Accessing Products
Data available at the ORNL DAAC have been collected by various
organizations for different purposes and research projects. To
aid in organizing these products, we have assigned each product archived
at the ORNL DAAC to one of four broad project categories:
You may navigate to data or model products associated with these project areas by using the
menu or by clicking on the specific project links included on this page.
If you don't know the project for a particular product,
you can use our search system
to search for products by attribute (for example, variable measured, spatial extent, investigator).
Field Campaigns
Field campaigns are projects that
typically involve numerous investigators collectively studying
selected aspects of the ecology and biogeochemistry of a
particular region or biome. These projects are usually short in duration and involve the collection of both in situ and remote-sensing and GIS data. More...

The goal of the EOS Validation Program is the comprehensive assessment of all
EOS science data products.
The ORNL DAAC supports these assessments by compiling data such as leaf area
index (LAI) and net primary productivity (NPP) for global test sites to
compare with satellite-derived products.
Ground-based observations coincident with satellite data are unique and provide
the data necessary to develop, calibrate, and validate ecosystem models. More...
Regional and Global Data
The ORNL DAAC compiles, archives, and distributes
regional and global data (RGD) that may be used to improve our understanding of
the structure and function of ecosystems. The DAAC also provides
a search and retrieval system -- Mercury -- for obtaining regional and global data held by other data centers and
links to data centers that offer Regional and Global Data. More...
Model Archive
The model archive contains comprehensive model documentation, input files, source code, code version, output files, and output analysis approaches or software used to produce tables and figures for a particular publication. More ...
